BLACKJACK

 On another cursory web review, I was just about to close down on President's Day and noticed a new image on one of the pages at the Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. Earl and Christy Powell donated works from KIPP, John Henry (whose passing I missed in Nov '22), and Joel Perlman.

The restoration and installation of all four pieces was supported by Michael J. Zinner, M.D., Bill and Susan Tillett,  Louis J. Capano, and Bill and Clare Banchs.

I will make a trip down to Miami in the next few weeks to see BLACKJACK and visit D in Greynolds Park.

YELLOW THROAT and UNTITLED 1971

 It has been some time since I updated the database. Once a year or so I search the web for any additional details that may have popped up about KIPP and the web never disappoints so I keep digging.

I found some images of YELLOW THROAT which is held in the collection of the Smart Museum of Art and was included in the exhibit, Monochrome Multitudes from Sep 22, 2022 - Jan 8, 2023

The piece was displayed alongside other yellow works by Anne Truitt, Beauford Delaney, Charles and Ray Eames, Sheila Hicks, and William Turnbull
