CORTEZ and UNTITLED 1973

Located CORTEZ, 1989, at the Georgia Museum of Art website and submitted a bid on an UNTITLED litho from 1973 but was outbid before the close today. I'll keep trying.

UNTITLED 1986

As a Christmas gift to myself, I made a bid on one of KIPP's paintings at the website - Chairish - and the seller accepted my offer. I thought it would take up to 6 weeks to arrive but it showed up on my doorstep today, Christmas Eve 2019.
It is proudly hung in my home office and joins two other maquettes, RED WING and ALTO, in my small KIPP collection.
Hopefully, this will not be the last one!
Merry Christmas.

OXTAIL

Wright Auctions is listing OXTAIL from the collection of Robert and Ruth Vogele. They purchased this one from the Construct Gallery in Chicago in the late 70s. Although it is small, it looks great.
In other news, there was an inquiry into HIGHLINE just outside the Van Nuys Post Office. Possible renovations to a barren plaza but there is a clean modern quality that is ripe for a little sprucing up. The original design was totally horizontal - the maquette is in the Smithsonian collection - I am glad KIPP decided to go vertical here.

DUNBAR

Hunter Museum of Art has a nice image of DUNBAR (1980). Nice to finally see this piece in public even if it is not currently on view.

MOON RUN and others

Wright Auction is currently listing several KIPP pieces in their 19 July 2018 offering. Two striking UNTITLED acrylics from 1978 as well as a unique sculpture that darts horizontally - MOON RUN. See all the items up for auction at Wright

UNTITLED 1967

I just ran across a maquette similar to BULLFINCH and WILD RICE that was auctioned on 18 MAR 2018 and have now added it to the site. Enjoy.

#500 and counting

Thanks to Wright Auction for requesting details about several works they currently have listed. The addition of these new pieces sends us over the 500 mark for the number of recorded works in the KIPP canon.
YUKON has the distinction of receiving the coveted #500.

There are several other 2D pieces that need to be added as well so we will keep recording.
